Description

Lovers is a new take on Bathing (2009). I always liked the idea, but was not satisfied with its execution.

I received a lot of constructive and inspiring feedback and here is the result.

Now, she's a blue haired water spirit while he represents earth/living things. I wanted to make the lovers more magical without affecting the atmosphere of my original attempt.

This is one of the few artworks that can make your day better. I haven't seen such a lovely piece of art in a really long time.
I'm very picky in general and it takes a lot of hard work to impress me, so the ratings aren't at all subjective. It really mattered in making this assessment to take a close look at <img class="avatar" src="a.deviantart.net/avatars/g/p/g…" alt=":icongppr:" title="gppr"/>'s other work called "Lovers - old and new". The changes and improvements are obvious and impressively mastered. A person who constantly learns from mistakes, even from the little ones as in the old version of "Lovers", deserves esteem. So, I can sincerely state that the technique is flawless.
The way the woman's hair merges with the waterfall gives us the impression that she is a kind of a water goddess. And the leaves in the man's hair, make him a symbol of the earth. The love theme is crystal clear. She gives him life, and he supports her. It's a perfect relationship, one that is based upon interdependence. The atmosphere is serene, and the lighting is magical. The birds are an excellent addition, their fragile, luminous bodies suggesting the thin line that separates us from the rest of the world. As much as we want to protect it, there will always be unexpected things that will come into our way.
All of these details are skillfully mended, and, as I said in my DD suggestion that I made for this deviation a few hours ago: water ( the source of life ), nature ( our humble home ), love and brilliance come together to show us once again that art is the voice within.
